Community Centre of Trzcianka is very important in the culture life of the town and district. TDK has ample cultural traditions in the sphere of small forms theatre, declamation, art, folk and amateurish output and photography. Traditionally, the competitions and post-competitive exhibitions with lectures about arts field presented at them are held. We can surely say that it is a photography center of a great importance in our province. In 1997 there was a Provincial Photography Competition, in 1995 a Regional Photography Competition, and in 1996 a Local Photography Competition “PORTRAIT” which succeed and now takes place every year. In 2001 6th edition of Photography Competition took place. At the community center work also: a brass band, two pop-music bands, an art group, three photography groups and an embroidering group. The inhabitants of Trzcianka often attend the cultural entertainments prepared by TDK, especially in summer at 1st May Park. The Community Centre of Trzcianka is a promotor and a co-promotor of artistic parts of local and national ceremonies.

Youth Community Centre (MDK)

Youth Community Centre is an only after – school education institution in the administrative czarnkowsko-trzcianecki district. It arranges leisure time to pre-school children, the pupils of primary and secondary school and other young people. It is organized in two sections: art and, sport and technical. Within these divisions there are 10 studios and almost 60 groups: arts, knitting, photography, vocal, dance, small forms theatre, sewing. There is also Scouts’ Sailing centre at MDK, and Municipal Sport Clubs with: chess, badminton, volleyball, an air shop pattern shop sections. At present 900 participants take part in regular activities. Moreover the centre organizes regional school subjects competitions and mass spectacles. For many years it has been also arranging such regular events as: Children’s Day picnic, Winter Activities during winter holidays. In recent years it has organized over 1000 different spectacles for children, youths and adults.

The Public Library in memory of Kazimiera Iłłakowiczówna

It is a place where the inhabitants of our town and district can use a library service. It helps to improve knowledge, find an important source of information, develop culture and takes care of library system in town and area. Moreover the library:

· organizes: performances, concerts, exhibitions, lectures, courses, author’s meeting,

· keeps: documentations and publications,

· runs a high school library, education, popularization, science and research activities.

The Library has got branches in five villages. Since 2000 the Public Library in Trzcianka has had the position of the administrative district library.

The Museum of Noteć land in memory of Wiktor Stachowiak

The museum was created in 1924 at local person Ryszard Hessler’s suggestion. Till 1945 an impressive collection of relicts of the past was gathered in this establishment guided by Karl Schutz. There were early Slavonic colonization vestiges (utensils, tools, ornaments, cinerary urns), numismatics (from Roman coins to contemporary ones), religious objects (drinking bowls, candlesticks, prayer books, gothic sculptures) and numerous archival things and phonograms. Unfortunately after the Second World War this abounding museum collection was dispersed and now there are only archaeological collection remains. A turning point at reconstruction of museum and it’s collection was Wiktor Stachowiak’s arrival to Trzcianka. This man, a lover of the past, started a long strenuous work to reconstruct former museum and provide its collection with new exhibits. On 22nd July 1958 the local museum was resumed. In 1964 a post war promoter and first conservator Wiktor Stachowiak died. The institute was named in this memory. At present the local museum gathers exhibits in six basic sections: archaeological, ethnographical, historical, art, numismatical and educational. Their assemblages consist of more than 20 000 museum pieces. Constant exhibitions is: “Trzcianka now and in the past” in the building at 36a Żeromski St., a transitor exhibition is: “School of the past”, “Postcards from Trzcianka” in a new building at 7 Żeromski St. Thera are also some promoted entertainments: “Museum picnic”, a competition of “Knowledge about Trzcianka”. It also partially arranges a picnic called “The days of Trzcianka”.
